ABOUT FEATURED COLLABORATOR

CYNTHIA DÁVILA VELARDE - GENERAL ASSISTANT 2010

Cynthia Dávila Velarde

She began her exploration of theatre with the Peruvian drama group Maguey. Under the tutelage of the maestro Willo Pinto she did research on physical and vocal expression. She decided to continue with her acting studies and in 2006 travelled to Buenos Aires, where she currently resides; in 2008 she completed a course in Acting and Stage Directing at the Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica (CIC). Alongside her formal studies she also studied The Creation of the Actor at CELCIT with the theatre director and teacher Carlos Ianni.

During her education she has acted in plays by dramatists such as T. Williams, J.P. Sartre and H. Pinter and performed in scenes from plays by Latin American playwrights.

She has worked on various theatrical productions as an actress, assistant director and physical trainer.

Her first experiences in production and postproduction were in the play Viene Nieve, the public performance of Cyclico and in the unconventional interventions of public spaces, AlienA2 and TrajeA2. Those experiences led her to the decision to centre her work more on production and management.

During 2010 she worked as a general assistant for Proyecto 34?S alongside Nikki Froneman, working on the administration and realization of various projects.

Cynthia is currently working on an artistic project that promotes Peruvian theatre as well as cultural exchange between Peruvian and Latin American artists that live in Argentina.

Diego Boulliet was born in 1976 in Buenos Aires. At the age of six he met the film director Miguel Marra, who lived in the same building, and through him the young boy developed a passion for cinema, accompanying his mentor to the premiere of short films at the Film School in Avellaneda. Later, he would be a student there of Audiovisual Arts and Animation, followed by further courses of TV Directing and Production at Canal 7 and Photography at the Sindicato de La Industria Cinemtográfica (SICA).

In 2005 he started out as a cameraman on different soap operas for the Argentine TV company Pol-ka, and since then has made a number of TV commercials. In 2006, he also worked as a HD assistant on the film U2 3D, and following up his interest in documentaries and rock music, he got to work on his first rockumentary, collaborating with bands such as Miranda! and El Otro Yo. He was the still photographer for the documentaries Todas esas cosas (All those Things), El Oeste Perdido (The Lost West) and El Pueblo de la Ruta (The Village), filmed in Chaco, Paraguay.

He was the cameraman on a documentary about the life of Colombian Drug lord Pablo Escobar, called Pecados de mi madre (My Mother's Sins), as well as on the fictional film La 21 Barracas, filmed entirely in the slum area of the same name in the city of Buenos Aires and made as part of a local social initiative. He currently gives classes of Cinematic Photography in his native city at the In Fokus school of photography.

Together with the services of his audiovisual production company NOTANCOOL, he joined Proyecto 34°S in 2009 with the role of producing TV and online adverts, and all material for HD videos.

His most recent work has been as director of photography of a Stop Motion animated film about a Wichi tale in 2010, made for French TV.
